Bay Racing #1

Organizing Authority: Herreshoff Marine Museum

1. The Herreshoff Marine Museum will conduct the Bay Racing #1 Race on July 18th,2015, at Ohio Ledge. If by Friday, July 17th, less than 2 boats have entered, the race will be held in Bristol Harbor. If less than 5 boats have entered, the race will be cancelled.

2. Rules: The race will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the prescriptions of US Sailing, the SS23 Class Rules, by rules of the authority governing Narragansett Bay, and by the Sailing Instructions. There will be no protests heard.

3. Eiigibility and Entries: Entrants must be current members of the Sea Sprite Association for 2015. Eligibile boats may enter by completing the registration form and paying the fee per the instructions found on the SSA website for the 2015 SS23 Bay Series.

4. Classes to race: Sea Sprite 23

5. Schedule: Racing will begin at 1:00 pm. Post-race raft up off Prudence Island BYOB.

6. Prizes: Glasses will be presented after the race for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes

The schedule is posted for 2015 on the website (please see menu on right hand side of front page under 2015 Narragansett Bay Racing) and scheduled on the Calendar (also located on the right hand side of the front page at the top of the list).

Please note that any sailor who finds other sea spriters to sail with and who wishes to schedule or publicize an event (races, rendezvous’s, cookouts, etc) can write up a post for publication and for placement on the Calendar.

This is a new 3 race series to be run by the SSA under the Organizing Authority
of the Herreshoff Museum. Registration fee will be $30 for all 3 races. Tows
home to be coordinated if light air prevails. Please fill out the registration form below and mail check and form as directed. You do need to join the SSA to race in this year’s Bay Series.
